This work investigates the fracture toughness of carbon fiber composites at room temperature and cryogenic (LN2) conditions, focusing on mode I and mode II delamination behavior. Double Cantilever Beam (DCB) and End-Notched Flexure (ENF) fracture tests were conducted on carbon fiber composites to characterize the delamination initiation as well as delamination propagation. Testing in both temperature conditions allowed for the assessment and comparison of how the fracture toughness changed in both modes of testing.
